I was surprised, but I was occupied with the core issue, that I returned the consideration, but the word that made me lose the control over my self, is that, he swore by God that my family and my sisters, are all under torture, in lewa Baghdad,

this was another person who was with Samir Haddad, and he was one of the torturers, he used to enter and say: no one beats him, and no one torments him, after that he leaves, and they continued to beat and torture me, and he asked me: is there any one hit you ,I tell him: welcome, this is the beating, and he goes out and enter, that happened for four times, he said to me,that: my brother has admitted implicitly that no one hits me, more important that, when they told me that: my sisters are being tortured, I lost control over my self, and I told them that: I'm the one who caused this, and I am wrong, and so, and so,… hang me,

but my family has nothing to do with this, they said to me : no, not as you want my brother, I told him that I did this and no one supported me,

Q2/Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh:So they threaten you by your family

he said: apology and we are going to get you free, I told him that it is the fourth impassible for me to apology to Bush, he said :no, you insulted the Prime Minister of Iraq and hit his hand by the shoes,

A2/Zaidi:Isaid to him :my brother, I did not mean al-Maliki, he is an employee, another one will replace him one day, but this one who occupied my country, in 2003, and comes in 2008, after this massacres, then his punishment going to be hard, with the Iraqi people.

Q2/Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh: Well, Since it was bargaining, and the hostage is important, it was your family, why the bargaining did not include the apology to George Bush too?

Bush didn’t ask for an apology at that time, but did they grabbed a confession from you , what I know is that: during the press conference of AlMaliki, he said that: you have confessed, that there is a person, and he called him by the slaughterer of the Iraqis, as well as many brothers in some programs said that you confessed that there is someone standing behind your act.

A3\Zaidi: Ok, let me continue, I told him that I will apology for AlMaliki, only, and you release my family, "he said, well, I wrote to him that: I held a meeting with you in 2003, and in 2004, also, and I entered your home, and Iam prompting you for this reason, I will apology if you felt embarrassed.

He came back after the flogging, beating and electricity, and said: who send you, and who is behind you, and gave me a piece of paper contains names of people, including Dr.Aoun,the owner of AlBaghdadia, and the former Director General of AlBaghdadia, and one of Baghdad office, ex-managers.

Q5\ Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh: That mean, the name of Dr. Aoun, was saying to you admit that he is behind you?

A5\ Zaidi:Yes, he said to me: Give me this name( by the letter this was one of the torturers who tortured me) he said to me: write to me about this name and Iwill release you,

Q6\ Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh: Was the confession or the urgency, about the person who pushed you or specifically about Dr. Aoun,

A6\ Zaidi:No,not about a specific person but about many persons,among them was Dr.Aoun

Q7\Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh:No Imean that the list, that you gave to us, contained names of some people who were working in Albagdadia,not founders or financing figures,

A6\ Zaidi: "They are working in ALBalbgdadia,but at the top of the list...

A6\ Zaidi:No, they were not in my phone,because between them an old managers ,for examle the former General Manager, who was long gone.

after then, I told him that : trust in God, I did not do it according to a will of a person or being pushed by some party ,just I want to humiliate the one who humiliated the Iraqis, he said to me it is important to say whom you told , I told him that: I didn't told any one, of course they related me to a political entity and they tried to take information from me, I lied to them, and mentioned a name when you take the middle word from it becomes ambiguous,mentioned it because of the electricity shocks

Q7\Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh:This is the one who pushed you?

A7\Zaidi:Oh yes,this was at the evening, they told me to say I'm from the organization of so.. and Ihave done so

Q7\Abdel-Hamid:It was some persons view?

A7\Zaidi: No no body veiw , from organization so snd so.., when they brought me to this place and I felt dizzy because all the beating was on my face and my head in addition to the electricity.

Q7\Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh: During this, Did you eat or drink?

A7\Zaidi: They brought the food for me, and I refused to eat,

Q7\Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh:All of this was in the first day?

A7\Zaidi:(this was in the first day at night they brought the food for me.my clothes was torn, Iwas in my under wear,

Q8\Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh: all of this was in a special detention, not in alegal detention?

Zaidi: No, all of This was in a special room at the location of the Prime Minister guards , which means ,the pick-up moved, and I was in the back, and they were sitting over my body,and we drove for a distance of 100 m, and they put a seat on my back, a doctor came to treat me, he said to me, why you done this on yourself, I told him that: this is a history, and I stood in the history stance, the doctor becomes affected, when he hear these words, and said to me: I can not do anything for you, more than the treatment, and a person accompanying the doctor recorded this dialogue,at the night, they transferred me to an adeserted house, and Iwas shaking till the morning, and till the morning, no one was besides me, and my eyes were covered , in the morning I knew that this house is adeserted house , and Iwas covered with mud, when I went out they gave me a blanket, and remained there until the morning hear a car motor running, while Iwas lying on the ground with out ability to sleep. "

Q8\ Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh: Did they want to torture you to revenge on you because you did not admit by what they want,(9:24)then what you said about the party,did not ease a little, and your apologize to AlMaliki, did not ease torture, a little bit?

A8\ Zaidi: It did not reduce anything ,Ididn't want them to reduce anything and I expected that they will release me as a normal thing, and that because whenever a group of them goes another group comes

Q8\ Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh:and you discovered latter on that, this does not exist?

A8\ Zaidi:yes of caurse it didn't exist ,and they told me to admit, I told them many times when I became agitated, that: I swear to take revenge on you,and some of the coleagues knows this thing,

when Icame covered with blood and dust, and saw this person, Isaid to him I swear to revenge on you, one day I sat with a person,whom one of his relatives has a previous national role in Iraqe ,

Q8\ Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh:Where did he has this national role?

A8\ Zaidi:during the British occupation in Iraq.

Q8\ Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh:In the past you mean?

A8\ Zaidi: yes, then we talked about the people who defend their lands and country and so, since this obsession is in myself,Imean when you talk about a national issue..

Q8\ Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh: and you want to make a film as a part of your work?

A9\ Zaidi: yes, and it was a documentary film about the twenty-revolution,as you say the most evil of the people ,are the idle, if you glorified them they will mention the ancestors. My consolation was in this matter.(15sec)
Q9\ Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh: Imean,if we want to represent, some journalists who are close to you,and who say that:Montazir already and always,looking for excellence and fame by any way,they are in your field and they wrote that about you and Iread it?

A9\ Zaidi: Let them write,Idont care about what they write, this is part of my opinions tax, and this part of the punishment and torture, Iam in the prison,and Iwas your colleague and I, hit Bush and you consider him as your grace, but this is your colleague in the profession, and he tortured in front of you, is there any one who asked al-Maliki, that:this person who is being beaten in the back there is an Iraqi,and he is a journaist with us,what ever happend to him, but they stand up in humiliation and apologize to him,and Isaw Bush on the C.D,after it,and the people rise up thier two hands,but the public didnt able,in the attendance of their amster Bush,and then aplogize to him ,and Bush says to them sit down,then they sit down in ahumlation, Iam your colleague,It dosnt matter if I done something wrong?

Q10\ Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh: It is possible for them to say that: you had caused them embarrassment, you have admitted that you had caused them embarrassment in your statement after discharge?
A10\ Zaidi: Yes,Iapologized to them,but they asked as journalists,and as a professional, why this person subjected to torture, where is the human rights, did he attacked some one,then let him punished,Ididnt asked,even when they gave me a special release, I rejected it, some honorable parliamentarians have signed their names for a release permission from the Iraqi government, I rejected it.

Q11\Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh: Ok, let us go back to the concerts, it seems to me concerts of torture, all this lasted for three days as you said?

A11\Zaidi: It was from the first day until the second day night.

A12\ Zaidi: anything that happen out side, increases the beating on me ,while they saying to me: you want to be a hero, it was scenarios of beating.

A16\ Zaidi:Let me continue, they came to me in the morning while they continued in whipping and sprinkle the cold water in my head and my back, and then this person Hadad, continued to come and go, till the evening, and they said we are going to send you to Lewa Bagdad,Iswear to do so and so.. admit, Isaid to him:what should I admit about my brother,Ihave nothing.. Ihit him..

Q17 Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh:So, What is Lewa Baghdad, is it an investigative authority or what?

A17\ Zaidi:It is a detention place ,then they took me at the evening to Lewa Baghdad, and I lost control upon my self at that time from the beating and not psychologically.

Q18\ Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh: By the by, although it is an intervention, the strange thing is that: our veiwers, who followed us at that time, can remember that: this information was being transferred to us, I tell you but don't tell any one?

A18\ Zaidi: There was honest people in Lewa Baghdad, and what happened to me made them sad,

Q18\ Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh:cooperate with you?

A18\ Zaidi:They could not cooperate with me, since it was a sensitive location, divided into two parts, terrorism counters, and Lewa Baghdad in single cells, but they were honest people and I cannot mention their names, but I standup in honoring them.

Q18\ Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh:That mean they may lost their source of living?

A18\ Zaidi: Surely surely, me be their necks, if they cooperated with a rebelian like me, But they said to me (in the single letter): we are your brothers, from the armed forces, don't be afraid.(16:52) They brought me and put me in the back bag of the Iraqe Hummer car, and took me with my handcuffed, and I remained in Lewa Baghdad.I stayed the first day,then came this Hadad,who makes the swoards and give it to them saying to them that: Slaughter him, I didn't saw a knife in his hand,

A18 Zaidi:Yes,all the night until the afternoon, but the second day they forced me to eat a banana,the brought the food infront of me, Icouldn't eat, my teeth were broken and my mouth swollen, and I said: I can not eat, he said to me that: if you did not eat we are going to web you again, I said to him, really I can’t eat, my brother, because my teeth are broken, He brought me a banana and I ate it reluctantly, and drank the Pepsi.

A18 Zaidi:At the morning on which Iwas tied in the deserted house,when the Prime Minister, used to declare that he visited Motazir in his bed and he is all right ,Iwas tied, in the morning ...

A18 Zaidi:In the mornning of:15th.Dec.,at that time I got sore in the bladder and I wanted to urinate, I called: Brothers, guards, but no one heard me, until the morning no one replied to me,and the pain increased ...(21sec)

Q18\ Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh:Imean the place, does it has a window for example?

A18 Zaidi:No,this was when they took me from the house at night?

A18 Zaidi:I couldn't see anything because my eyes were covered, but when my situation reached the point made me think that Iam going to urinate on my clothes. This situation terrified me. I opened my eyes with my own hands and I opened the wrap and found a deserted empty house full of dust, there was stairs in front of me, going up, and found the bathroom, when I went up stairs I thought about escaping away from this place, I walked through the rooms and by what was left of my strength, the guards were at the door, no nothing about me.

Q19\ Zaidi: He told me that he couldn’t do any thing for me , and he put gauze on my nose at night.

A20\ Zaidi: No, the beating increased ,and he said :your leg broken ,we could transfer you to a hospital, and so is your nose, however, I found a place, which I can reach through the garden, but at this time, it came to my mind they'll say the fugitive Montazir Zaidi, I thought that it would be written:the fugitive Al-Zaidi, and well known channels that related to the occupation shall write that this have done this act and defeated.(1:5osec)
Q21\ Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh: You mean that you planned and expected that the operation will succeed, but you was afraid from the media?

A21\ Zaidi: no. but feared that they may turn it to their own benefit.

A20\ Zaidi:Yes, might be a successful, and you know that they have no authority in more than the place where they are, Imean if I get out, and the occupation forces tried to stop me

A23\ Zaidi: Yes, and I was sure about that, and by the by, Iwas reading Koran , and my solace is in Almighty God.

Q24\ Zaidi: No, ..I know it by heart, , and when I saw that the escape may make me lose everything I came back and tied my hands as an obedient prisoner, and put the cover on my eyes and tied my legs, and sate, and when this executioner entered ,the worst one who tortured me , he said Oh, you are opining your eyes, who open your hands forward, I told him that I did ,my shoulders have torn, because there was much pain from the head and the tees and the broken leg , I said to him God help detainees whom you kill every day ..

Q25\Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh: were they in the same house or in the fllowing detentions?

Q25\Zaidi: No,in fllowing prisons , even when I released they used to hold my hands and say to me: not forget us.

Q26\ Abdel-Hamid Elsaeh:How long did this operation takes, in this house and then the legal procedures?(9sec)
26\Zaidi: Please wait a bit if you don’t mind, I saw innocent people…

Q27\ Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh: surely, you are going to send their massage during being with us..

A27/Zaidi: There is a man, whom his age was sixty years, his name is Haj Mamnon, he was a former Brigadier General in the army, they brought him before three years, he was a prisoner there, and they say to him that :your case is finished, your case had been lost, (20sec)and there was another young man his name is Ezz Eldin, they brought him and put him there, he was a student in the air force academy, they said to him that: you are a secret agent, and they destroyed his future, youth in the flowers age, when you see them you would ask your self: why they are in the prison, when I have been released they tenacity with my hands, and asked me not to forget them, and Ido not.

Q29\ Abdel-Hamid Elsaeh: We are calling upon these claims ,and the media too.

29\Zaidi:Itold them, and said that: Iam going to do so when get out.

Q30/ Abdel-Hamid Elsaeh: Truly, from this place and from this meeting with you,we are demanding to review the files of detainees, the determination of the charges and the release of the innocent.

A30/ Zaidi: I wish that there is honest people between Iraqi politicians, there are honest politicians, but no one hears their voices, I mean the officials, they should go to judiciary and amputate the breaches, I can not stabbing all of the judiciary, but there are corrupt and the careless officials, who don’t care to people's issues, the cases may delayed for six months and seven months, while these prisons and these days passed and the holidays passed and the children grow up. I know some one, who was an Army colonel, his mother died and his brother being killed while he was a detainee, and others, and others. (45sec)
Q31/ Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh: Montazer now in the limits of Montazer ElZaidi, case, for how long you have been in this house, when did you moved to the legal or judicial proceedings, or your place changed is at least to a controlled formal detention? (25sec)
A31/Zaidi: I started on the first night and second day until the night, which was all torture and webbing, they used to go in groups and say: we have ended our holiday and we came back to torture you, imagine such cruelty, until the evening when they took me and pulled me out, and the lewa cars came more than once, and this person, who I told you about, returns it, and say: There, they will torture you and destroy you, It is better for you to admit, before you go there. Isay to them:Ihave nothing,they say to me:think.

Q32/Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh: to admit by what: the same old admision?

A32/ Zaidi: do you have people support you, or states, or persons, or intelligence.

Q33/ Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh: They are concentrating on the same name?

A33/ Zaidi: No, give us any State, or any intelligence, or any other institutions. Then, he says to me: think and remember, and go, and they start beating me, then he comes back and says: is he beating you? I told him that: if he did not agree to beat me, then prison me even in the bathroom, he says, no, no after a while, some one may beat you, and the situation repeated, this person played very bad role in torturing me. At the evening, Lewa Baghdad cars came,I said my prayers and left my lead to the God, I was shaking from the cold, I was full of water, two soldiers picked me up, and he had brought me a blanket, to sit on it, as a policy of carrot and the stick, and when we reached Lewa Baghdad came, they covered me with the blanket, quarter an hour before, I was shuddering as a palm leave, two soldiers accompanied me.

A34/ Zaidi: What I know that there was a press conference, it was in 15/Dec. on what time.. I say to you after the evening, the second day, and all the day I have been under torture.

A35/ Zaidi: I told you that was on 15 at night to Lewa Baghdad.

A37/ Zaidi: Yes, the second day.

A41\ Zaidi: Many doctors came to me a lot, they were sympathetic and were very professional and I thank them, because they said: we have nothing to do with politics, we hold stars, but we are humanists doctors, they were a good sample of Iraq youth, those who treated me.. They took me to a cell, not exceed opening my two hands and a distance not exceed meter and a half, and a concrete bed with a mattress on it , but this place has become to me like paradise, and some brothers from Lewa Baghdad visited me, without mentioning their names ,or the rank, , and they said to me: don’t be scared no one can harm you Here, you are here as a honorable dear until you take your punishment through the judiciary. ..

Q42/ Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh: judiciary !! .. it is the first time you hear the word “judiciary”?

A42/ Zaidi: The first time I hear the word" judiciary”... and I uttered “no Good but God” from this place.

Q43/ Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh: I would like to ask a question always raised in the media, was AlMaliki also present at the torture session, as they said?

A43/ Zaidi: Frankly, I don’t know, because my eyes were warped, but I was felt from the footfall and greetings and the work, that there were responsible, coming, whether it was Al-Maliki or any other I can not confirm .. I entered Lewa Baghdad,through this cell,it was like paradise for me, there is no insult and battery, the warden of lewa Baghdad, visited me, without mentioning his name, and found me ripped, and he looked at me and said to me: are you afraid, at once he aroused the disobedience inside me, which was unconscious, perhaps, I told him that Iam not afraid, he kept it to himself, as they say, at the second day they treated me hospitably, and brought clothes for me, since I was wearing under clothes they brought training suit for me and asked me to wash here in the bath room, of course I was in need for two persons to hold me up so as not to fall in the bathroom, and I was a piece of clay, I entered into a small bath with a shower He told me, to take off my clothes, wash them and wear the new clothes, and said to me: the water is a bit cold , but do not worry, the water was falling on my head like arrows and mud was being flow from under me.

Q44/ Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh: mud, from the deserted house, and you are now in an official prison in Lewa Baghdad .?

A44/ Zaidi: Yes, however, I washed, and they brought second-hand clothes for me.

Q45/ Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh: There is no torture, does it stopped?

A47/ Zaidi: Well, after they took me to the investigation judge,I have counted the steps and they took me upstairs from my place to the judge.

Q48/ Abdel-Hamid Elsayeh:You know his name?

A48/ Zaidi: His name was Zaid ElKenani, he was sympathetic, and said to me :By God, from now no one will beat you , and said to me: this is an authorized lawyer, for you, from the court, to be content , and this is the first time I enter the court after the marriage testimony, I told him that; I want to authorize a lawyer, He said to me I'll give you phone and you open the speaker and say the lawyers’ name,and speak with the lowyer. Came to my mind, my brother Abu Hayah,and he was very close, with my respect to my brothers, whom was affected also, Uday and Dergham, but my friend Maytham, and we have a spiritual relationship together, and his phone number is the only number which I save with my number, and contacted him, he fall crying , I said to him: Abu Alhayah, I need a lawyer, and I have many friends who are lawyers, he said to me you have more than 1500 lawyers responsible for you, (this is the first time I know that the people are with me), and the people of AlBalbgdadia, the world is upside down for you.
